Sag Harbor Residence +
The house, built by Michael Derrig and designed by William Beeton, embraces the traditions and character of Sag Harbor Village’s historic district. A separate entrance to the cottage was provided for guests. There is a significant grade change at the rear end of the property. This change called for use of a fieldstone retaining wall and architectural slopes in bringing order to the site. The pool is centered between the main house and cottage. With the help of monolith steps, a clear and satisfying axis is created between the three principal built elements and across the property.
